The name RAGDOLL came about because of the cat's ability to relax like a child's toy RAGDOLL.
RAGDOLL kittens are born white and their true colour is not fully developed until they are about two years of age. They do not mature until approximately three years of age. Neutered males weigh approximately 12 to 20 pounds, spayed females weigh about five pounds less. Their fur is rabbit-like, medium to long and very easy to care for.
RAGDOLL have unique personalities, they are loving, placid and easy going. They make wonderful house or apartment cats. RAGDOLL are intelligent and can be easily trained. RAGDOLL have a special temperament, usually sweet and docile, they are not fighters.   They show many characteristics usually attributed to dogs, devotion, sleeping on one's feet etc.
RAGDOLL have the unique characteristics of going limp (when they desire) in your arms when picked up. They seem to enjoy being held like a baby and they habitually lie on their backs with their legs flattened out and their arms sticking straight up.
